摘要： Unauthorized photography of screen-loaded information has become a low-cost and difficult-to-trace method for leakage. Many researchers have proposed screen-cam robust watermarking methods for digital images and documents to identify surreptitious photography. However, these methods are designed for specific types of data and cannot be used in real time, which limits their applicability. This study proposes a screen watermarking method that possesses screen-cam robustness and real-time watermark refreshing. Specifically, a resolution-adaptive watermark template was designed that comprises message watermark templates and two types of synchronization watermark templates. To achieve real-time watermark refreshing, the pregenerated watermark template is directly embedded into the back buffer, which represents the content to be loaded onto the screen. A simplified just noticeable difference model was employed to ensure watermark imperceptibility. For watermark extraction, the positions of the embedded synchronization watermark templates are calculated using a synchronization response index method. Based on these positions, we can perform automatic perspective correction and locate the message watermark template embedded region. Finally, the message watermark was extracted from the discrete Fourier transform domain of the noise component. Extensive experiments demonstrated that the watermark refresh rate meets practical requirements and that the proposed method is robust against image-processing attacks and screen-cam attacks. © 2024 The Author(s)

摘要： We perform a Bayesian analysis of anisotropy in binary galaxy spin directions in the Hyper-Suprime Cam Data Release 3 catalogue, in response to a recent claim that it exhibits a dipole (Shamir 2024). We find no significant evidence for anisotropy, or for a direction-independent spin probability that differs from 0.5. These results are unchanged allowing for a quadrupole or simply searching for a fixed anisotropy between any two hemispheres, and the Bayes factor indicates decisive evidence for the isotropic model. Our principled method contrasts with the statistic employed by Shamir (2024), which lacks a strong theoretical foundation. Our code is available at ©. © 2024, CC BY.

摘要： The impact of wildfire smoke is largely determined by the height where they are injected into the atmosphere. Current plume rise models tend to underestimate the high smoke injection heights because the previous models and configurations were mainly constrained and validated by the plume height observation from Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR), of which most cases inject low within the planetary boundary layer (PBL). Here we retrieve smoke injection heights from intense pyro-convections based on pyrocumulonimbus satellite images in PYROCAST data set alongside meteorological reanalysis. It largely augments the MISR data set with smoke injection heights up to the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (UTLS). Constrained by both MISR and PYROCAST, we show that a scaling down of factor 0.2 to the entrainment efficiency parameterized in the one-dimensional plume-rise model (1-D PRM, Freitas et al. (2010, )) significantly improves the model performance for high injection cases without compromising the accuracy of low injection cases. We also found that the fire intensity input can be obtained through a simplified dependence on the biome and biomass burning emission flux. While being unable to represent high cases before, the improved 1-D PRM model predicts similarly well in injection heights both low near the PBL height and high into the UTLS. The improved 1-D PRM is then coupled into Community Atmosphere Model with Chemistry (CAM-chem). The coupled CAM-chem-PRM, when predicting injection heights in tests imitating real BB emission, exhibited consistent predictive capabilities with the standalone 1-D PRM while saw a mere 15% increase of computation time. 摘要： Atherosclerosis is a leading cause of cardiovascular diseases, characterized by endothelial dysfunction and lipid accumulation. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging as key regulators of endothelial cell behavior. This study aimed to investigate the role of lncRNA NORAD in endothelial cell proliferation and as a potential therapeutic target for atherosclerosis. A total of 75 CAD patients and 76 controls were recruited, and plasma NORAD levels were measured using qRT-PCR. HUVECs were transfected with si-NORAD to evaluate its effects on cell cycle, proliferation, migration, and apoptosis. Plasma NORAD levels were significantly elevated in CAD patients. The NORAD-miRNA-mRNA ceRNA regulatory network was constructed based on GEO database, and G1/S-specific cyclin-D1 (CCND1) was identified as one of the hub factors. NORAD deficiency suppressed cell migration and induced G1 cell cycle arrest in HUVECs by downregulating CCND1 in vitro. NORAD upregulated CCND1 in HUVECs via sponging miR-106a that inhibited cell migration. The dual-luciferase assay confirmed the direct targeting of miR-106a by NORAD, and overexpression of miR-106a inhibited HUVEC proliferation and migration. Si-NORAD transfection resulted in induced early apoptosis, increased intracellular ROS levels, decreased GSH levels, and reduced mitochondrial membrane potential. Additionally, si-NORAD decreased the expression of GPX4, FTH1, KEAP1, NCOA4, and Nrf2, while increasing Xct levels, confirming the involvement of ferroptosis. Our findings reveal that NORAD plays a critical role in endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis, and its silencing induces ferroptosis. The regulatory network involving NORAD, miR-106a, and their target genes provides a potential therapeutic avenue for atherosclerosis.

摘要： AbstractBackgroundBalloon aortic valvuloplasty (BAV) has gained renewed interest as a bridge to transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for patients with aortic stenosis (AS). However, it is unclear whether they patients should undergo TAVR directly or receive a staged bridge to BAV before TAVR is unclear. We used a national database to examine the association between BAV and TAVR in patients with TAVR and its effect on in-hospital mortality. MethodsUsing the nationwide inpatient database of the Japanese registry of all cardiac and vascular diseases and the combination of the diagnosis procedure combination, we retrospectively analyzed 27,600 patients with AS who underwent TAVR between October 2013 and March 2021. Outcomes of the direct TAVR group ( n = 27,387) were compared with those of the BAV bridge to TAVR group ( n = 213), which received BAV at least 1 day before TAVR. ResultsThe median age was 85 (interquartile range: 82–88) years, with 33.3% ( n = 9188) being male. Unplanned/emergent admissions increased with TAVR, whereas the use of BAV bridge to TAVR decreased. The in-hospital mortality rate was 1.3% and decreased over time. However, the BAV bridge to TAVR had a significantly higher in-hospital mortality than direct TAVR (5.6% vs. 1.3%; p < .0001). Factors associated with in-hospital mortality included age, body mass index, chronic renal disease, percutaneous coronary intervention, and BAV bridge to TAVR. ConclusionsIn unplanned/emergent and planned admission settings, the in-hospital mortality rate for BAV bridge to TAVR is worse than that for direct TAVR. Practical criteria for BAV bridge to TAVR should be proposed to improve outcomes.
