摘要： This narrative inquiry involves six 15-18-year-old students with type 1 diabetes (T1DM) at two co-educational independent boarding schools and one university in northern England. Through semi-structured narrative interviews, I obtained their perspectives on how their T1DM and the assistive technologies (ATs) they use to manage their treatment affects their capabilities of "knowledge" and "emotions' [Walker, Melanie. 2006. "Towards a capability-based theory of social justice for education policy-making." Journal of Education Policy 21 (2): 163-185, 179;180] within school. The study's purpose is to amplify the underrepresented voices of students with T1DM and gain insights on how to better support their wellbeing and learning in educational settings. Previous studies in this area do not consider the impact of current ATs or how T1DM impacts learning. Narrative analysis was conducted on transcripts and member checking was undertaken. Findings suggest that informants' knowledge capabilities are impacted by distractions, disruptions and cognitive impairment associated with T1DM and ATs. However, ATs enable knowledge capability expansion for students with T1DM, as the consequent improved glucose control supports cognition and learning. Informants' emotional capabilities are limited by the burden of diabetic management and ATs in school. Fortunately, the Capability Approach (CA) lens illuminates how education, advancing healthcare and relational approaches to supporting students are conversion factors that can enhance students' wellbeing, learning and potential functionings.

摘要： Refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm olein imported after long shipment may require post-bleaching and deodorisation to restore quality. In this study, an RBD palm olein imported from an overseas country was bleached using a range of bleaching earths (BEs) to determine their effects on the content of 3-chloro-1,2-propanediol esters (3-MCPDE) and glycidyl esters (GE), and on some quality parameters such as peroxide value (PV), colour, conjugated diene and trienes. Four types of bleaching earths (Tonsil (R) A, B, C and D) were used at 0.5-3.0% (w/w). Tonsil (R) A and B were acid-activated, Tonsil (R) C was an acidic earth while Tonsil (R) D was a neutral one. The results showed that the highest reductions in PV and GE contents were achieved by acid-activated BEs (Tonsil (R) A and B) used at 3.0% (w/w). On the other hand, 3-MCPDE content was not significantly affected by the BE type and ratio although some reductions were detected using neutral earth. Conjugated triene and L* values increased with the increase of the earth ratio while some decreases were observed in the redness, b* and conjugated diene values.

摘要： In photoinduced, radical-mediated carbon-terminus carborane functionalization, critical constraints include intricate substrate precursor synthesis, the requirement for ultraviolet light, and costly photosensitizers. This study employs cost-effective and readily available copper complexes as photocatalysts, enabling the successful atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) reactions between iodocarboranes and unsaturated bonds. Using this catalytic system, a series of structurally unique carborane-containing iodinated compounds and AIE-active molecules have been efficiently constructed.
